The MARPE Diplo talks series continues on May 23rd, 2019 with an incursion into the theory and practice of corporate diplomacy, an interdisciplinary area gaining more and more global relevance.
Our panel will offer varied and informed perspectives, exploring the (love-hate?) relationship between the corporate world and traditional diplomacy, as well as the impact of their junction, corporate diplomacy.

Who are the members of our panel?
He has a degree in Psychology from the Complutense University of Madrid, PCD from IESE, Master in Innovation in Communication from the Jaume I University and a PhD in Communication from the Jaume I University. His professional career began as qualitative and quantitative market research technician in Alef, Strategic Planning in J. Walter Thompson, and managing partner of Millward Brown International in Spain and Portugal.
He joined Argentaria in the Strategic Analysis Unit, within the Presidency and Risks Area, with the aim of defining and implementing a new strategy and positioning for the Argentaria brand, in 1998.
He was the Strategy Director of the Global Communication and Brand area of the BBVA Group, with overall responsibility for communication strategy, brand, reputation and metrics. Since April 2011 he is CEO and General Secretary of Corporate Excellence – Center for Reputation Leadership.

With more than 20 years of experience as a lobbyist in Madrid and Brussels, Javier oversees customer relations at the highest level, including focus on work, quality of services and team coordination. As Managing Partner in Spain and Portugal, he has extensive experience in the design of institutional strategies, the creation of coalitions and the coordination of Public Affairs campaigns for leading companies in different sectors of activity.
Javier holds a degree in Economic and Business Studies and a postgraduate in European Affairs. He is founder and member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Institutional Relations Professionals (APRI).
Alberto brings a solid knowledge of the industry, as well as the ability to successfully lead high level commercial teams. Alberto has spent the last twenty years working in the Media sector, developing relationships in CXO levels and executives of the FTSE, in the areas of Reputation Analysis, Leadership, Sales and Marketing.
Before founding Alva, he lived and worked in London for global media companies, such as Cision and Datamonitor plc, where he held executive positions, such as Sales & Marketing Director and VP of Sales in Emerging Markets. Alberto has a First Class BA Hons Media Management degree from the University of the Arts London and an MBA from the Cass Business School.
For the past eight years he has been a Senior Counsellor with strategic communications and public affairs consultancy APCOWORLDWIDE, based in London, although he recently returned from a more than one year assignment as interim MD of the firm’s Indian operation based in Delhi, acting for private and public, Indian and international organisations. Roger is currently an adviser to the UK-India Business Council. He has also spent considerable periods of time as senior adviser to the African operation based in Johannesburg. He was for some years an adviser to the President and Government of Ghana. He is an experienced trainer, running workshops in SE Asia, Africa, India and the Middle East. He is also an approved EU institutions trainer. He is part-time faculty at Henley Business School and Greenwich University.
