Anne-Marie Cotton (MSc, MA, MBA) is senior lecturer Communication and Media Planning in the department of Communication Management since 1992. She also is the European coordinator of the Master in European Public Relations (MARPE) since 1997 and launched the MOCOMA programme (English programme for Erasmus students in the communication management department) in 2002. She was the organizer of the Erasmus Intensive Programme “Lobbying and Government Affairs in a European Perspective “(3 consecutive years: 2011-2014). She served EUPRERA (European Public Relations’ Education and Research Association) as president (1999-2001), past president (2002-2003) and secretary General (2003-2010). She organized several international colloquia (Euroblog) in Ghent, Brussels, and Berlin.
She co-authored articles on Public Diplomacy (with project colleagues Hélène Boulanger and Susana Carvalho), she published articles in the fields of education and communication sciences and wrote books on advertising and transmedia planning, and book chapters on Public Relations history in Belgium and the role of management in bachelors in communication management in Flanders. She is preparing her PhD thesis on the dynamics of change in the communication profession from the communicator’s perspective.
She is a member of academic societies (LASCO, Université Catholique de Louvain and MICA, Université de Bordeaux Montaigne), professional organizations and international scientific committees, is regularly invited as expert in accreditation committees in The Netherlands and Belgium (French speaking part) and is managing director of the international journal Sciencia Paedagogica Experimentalis.
